EGYPT: Fight for Democracy- A spectre of rising Class Struggles

EGYPT: Fight for Democracy- A spectre of rising Class Struggles

Quiet opposite to the vulgar propaganda of western Imperialism about the ‘backward’ culture and ‘Islamist orthodox’ consciousness of middle East, people of Lebanon, Syria, Yemen and especially North African Country – Egypt,  has so courageously torn every cobweb of lies around them and about them . Millions of people swarming in the streets of Cairo including women of all ages have raised their voice against the 30 year old Dictator – Hosni Mubarak who happens to be a faithful client of fascist Israeli Govts. and ally of American Ruling Classes. Recently when people of Egypt gave ultimatum to the much
hated President to quit till 4th of Feb. He suddenly managed to send hundreds of hired goons and his party workers to clash with the struggling masses and to create the conditions of utter civil war and anarchy in the country following which he can justify any ruthless police or military action to suppress the people’s uprising. Public anger busted in Egypt as early as April 2008 with strike of textile workers for better wages in wake of rising Financial depression. Yet recently on 25th January thousands of people came out in the streets of Cairo. Consequently, administration cut off all telephone, internet, television connections and imposed curfew. Besides all these measures taken by police on 28th January again a overwhelming  population came on streets and on the contrary where it was shown to people that army has ‘sworn’ not to shoot on people police and army opened fire causing many to die. On 2nd Feburary Govt. Played another card and pushed their goons in and among people to fight against protesters, on 3rd Feburary as deadline came closer their was intense violence in Cairo where in one day 7 protesters died and 700 were injured.
REASONS FOR PEOPLE’S UPRISING : -
Looking comprehensively we may note that people’s anger in Egypt is not the only major political incident in recent years. Their have been no. of such political outrages in almost all parts of the world. In fact as it is very cleverly cooked that Egypt’s revolution is outrage of people ONLY against their dictator, which is true but partially. Egypt’s upheaval must be seen as a link and just another political expression against the ongoing economic crises and things will become more clear when we will link and understand the character and causes of all these uprisings, which are serious economic reforms. The continuing strikes in France right from feb 2006 till recently in 2010, enormous  people’s resistance against cutting on welfare funds in Greece, similarly -Cyprus, Portuguese, Turkey, Spain, Holland etc. Also various other tactics are being applied by Imperialist forces to avoid the Crises and let the economy rolling through wars, recently the US imperialist forces had accomplished this through ‘war on terrorism’ and Russia’s unprovoked invasion on Georgia is another example. Globally such incidents of political outrage are being caused by crises ridden world economy which in the era of globalisation has made every 3rd world economy( under developed ) dependent on western model of free market economy. People of Egypt has long ago asked for serious economic reforms but as is the character of its economy it is dependent, weak and plays role of good ‘ debt market’ for Imperialist powers and when the masters of Egypt’s economy( Imperialist forces ) found themselves in an unavoidable economic crises it was but natural for the small dependant economies like Greece and Egypt to be close to get bankrupt. Now when economic reforms were not possible in Egypt then it became necessary for the people of Egypt to come out on the streets and fight against that very political power in their country which is channelizing dependence of Egyptian economy in the hands of imperialists through ‘Finance capital’.
IMPERIALST POLICY TOWARDS 3rd WORLD COUNTRIES. –
World Economy is always in the driving seat of political policies of the govts all around the globe, especially the western ‘Super-Powers’. Today when very temporarily it seems that Financial crises has stopped, the uprisings of people against their governments in various parts of the world demanding reforms, employment, pensions, job security shows that dynamics of crises has not gone but is only brewing underneath heavy political propaganda of govts.
How the political policies are moulded on the base of economic policies can be seen when Capitalist economic system got struck in one of its regular crises in 1970’s, which was known as structural crises, then the solution was founded by imperialists not through some new technological innovation of new kind like steam engine or electricity but it decided to generate surplus or profits through establishing new debt markets. The idea was to give huge loans to the 3rd world economies, make them dependant and earn enormous Interests. The so called ‘green revolution’ in India was nothing but manifestation of this loan giving and interest earning extravaganza! And now we all know what havoc it has caused to the quality of soil of Punjab and made all peasantry of India debt ridden. Similarly to keep moving economy without any material production various bubbles were blowed, like IT bubble, Real Estate, etc. Yet continued were the small-big expressions of economic sickness in 1987, 1992, collapsing of East Asian economies in 1997, 1998-2000 crises in Russia and Sub-prime crises which started in 2001 with epicentre as US. Hence it is clear that in last 70 years or so there have been no real-material productive development in the economy but only speculations and bubbles floating now and then. In all this scenario THIRD WORLD was treated as a sacrificial lamb to maintain superficial development by the so called ‘developed word’. Along with Egypt people of Yemen, Syria and Jordan has raised their voice against their governments and against enormous debts propelled by WTO in the name of Structural Adjustment programme (SAP- in early 1990’s) which have chocked the economies of these countries. Now the danger has also been sensed by the King of Saudi Arab who has already started giving statements in the favour of President of Egypt to show his faithfulness to  his imperialist masters. But it seems that now all the ideas and fears like ‘Islamist orthodoxy’ and ‘terrorism’ etc. Propagated in favour of political and economic policies have started falling before the spectres of rising democratic and conscious struggles of wide masses.
CONCLUSION:- Rising upheavals of peoples all around the globe of different forms demanding, political, economic, cultural reforms are varied conscious or unconscious expressions against repressive economic and political models which in form appears to be democratic yet in content are not.  The demand of Egyptian people for a democratic government is enormous national movement with its consequences spreading like wild fire atleast in whole of the North Africa and Arab World. Now as the days pass by the Egyptian struggle, irrespective of the fact that it may take its time, will become sharper and clearer. People have understood that their enemy is their Dictator and solution lies in Independent, self-sustaining economy. Hence they are fighting not only against one tyrant but whole concept of Tyranny expressed through 3rd world’s ‘dependant economic system’ and propelled by Imperialists around the globe.
